Seven Deadly Sins Blend Contest: Greed Round
Ok, the third round of the blend contest for the Seven Deadly Sins is underway. There are 7 rounds and this is the third one: greed. There are 4 blends. Please do not tell anyone which blend is yours if you made one and do not discuss the blends in such a way that others can figure it out. Let's try to keep this as anonymous as possible. Also, if you made a blend, please do not vote in this contest.
Charlotte and I will post in here and let everyone know when the blends for the fourth round will be due. One of us will make a thread for the next round, sloth, with due dates, suggestions etc. Anyone can enter the fourth round, whether it's the people who entered blends in this round, or completely new people.
Here are the blends:
Blend 1
Blend 2
Blend 3
Blend 4
The voting starts now and ends in about a week. Vote for which ever one you think best portrays the sin of greed.

Wow, tough....I had a hard time deciding between the last 3. The first one wasn't bad, but it didn't seem to show greed all that much, to me anyway, plus the script was super hard to read. I really liked the 2nd one, but I don't think it portrayed greed quite as well either...it showed a desire, but not really greed. I voted for number 3, very well done blend and I think it portrayed greed really well!!

1. I just... I just don't like it - the colours, pictures, and it doesn't really show any 'greed'. 3/10
2. Beautiful. There aren't super-decorative brushes and textures, but it really, really shows greed and the picture is simply perfect with the text. Not the best blending, but I love this one. 8/10
3. I don't like the font and I don't see how the Sasha picture on the right has anything to do with greed. I like the use of textures/brushes though, so good job. Try not to use such a huge black border though - it looks... unfinished. 7.5/10
4. I love the layout and top and bottom banners of this, and the whole thing was a creative idea, but I didn't get the concept of greed in this blend and the blending in the middle pictures weren't really my taste. Good try, though. 7/10

1: It was okay overall, but I did not understand how it portrayed the 'greed'. The text was also really hard to read which made the blend less effective.
2: This one was simple and different, and that's what I liked about it. I am not too fond of that texture-blending style, but that's just my humble opinion. While this is obviously a great blend, I question it's resemblance to the 'greed' concept - I, personally, did not see the greed there, perhaps desire, but not greed. Nice try, though. I liked the little Vancouver 2010 writing blended in the background.
3: This was my favorite and my vote. I think it was very unique and interesting to look at. I loved the way the "scrolling" of the phrase "I want gold..." emphasized greed and the positioning of the two pictures is perfect. I liked the effects you used as well, very appealing.

In my opinion, the border looks great. Just think how boring graphics would be if all of them had borders that Judith considers 'finished effects'? (I'm not saying Judith has a bad taste, just that I like it when graphics have creativity in them; not only what people expect.) She has a point though. However, I don't think you need to change anything about the blend altogether! Great work, keep it up. :-P
4: Wow, I liked the use of gradients and bevel shadow on this one! Really beautiful. But something was missing. To me, this blend seemed too generic for my taste - and there was a trace of 'greed' but not as much as #3. If I could choose two winners, it would be this one and the blend above it. Nicely done.
Great job everyone!

No actually, that was not what I meant. The border style itself is actually generic, but with the blend, it looks unfinished. To ME, that is. ;-) I'm not saying that my opinions of the blends here have anything to do with what others think of the blends. x)

Thanks for the clarification. I was actually using your post as an example to emphasize what I mean by people having different blending styles... kinda. I stink at explaining things. -_- Sorry if I was a bit confusing.

#1... I just don't really care for it.. I'm not sure why. Pretty much, the same exact thing Judith said.
#2... This one is gorgeousss. I voted for it. Very creative and I love everything about it.
#3... I didn't care for the black border, but I liked everything else.
#4... This probably would have been my second favorite. Very nice! I can't say there's anything I don't like of it.. I just liked two more.
GREAT JOB ALL OF YOU!

If you read the topic of this thread, it says "Seven Deadly Sins Blend Contest". This means that it is a contest between four different contestants on the board who make a specific blend that goes with the theme Greed, also stated in the topic title.

#1: Pretty much the same thing as everyone else said. I just don't really get how it showed greed.
#2: I voted for this because I love the style of it and I think it showed greed in the best way.
#3: Nice overall, showed greed pretty well, I just think the words could have been put together in a more "poetic" way instead of just listing like I want an Olympic gold, world gold, etc...hopefully that made sense.
#4: I like the effects on this one but the explanation of greed was a little plain and I didn't really like some of the pictures in the middle because some kind of didn't really go together that well.

#1- good blend, it was nice but I couldn't really read what it said, and it didn't show greed enough
#2- you got my vote fantastic blending skills and the word "reaching" is so powerful and that is one of my favorite pictures of sasha ever...and the background, I don't know how you did it but it was very beautiful and dramatic...I wouldve liked maybe one more picture of sasha in there but It was very good
#3- this was very good! I love the pictures you used and the writing, it showed greed very well lol and well just really great job and the design at the bottom is really cool
#4- my second choice :-) very beautiful, showed greed perfectly and it was dramatic, the pictures you used were perfect and I love how you positioned them great job!
they were all pretty and good job to everybody!
ugh now IM mad that my free 30 day paint shop pro thing ran out bummer
