Seven Deadly Sins Blend Contest: Lust Round

Ok, the blend contest for the Seven Deadly Sins is underway. There are 7 rounds and this is the first one: Lust. There are 4 blends. Please do not tell anyone which blend is yours if you made one and do not discuss the blends in such a way that others can figure it out. Let's try to keep this as anonymous as possible.

Charlotte and I will post in here and let everyone know when the blends for the second round will be due. Anyone can enter the second round, whether it's the people who entered blends in this round, or completely knew people, but keep in mind this is a contest, and points are given out.

2- I liked this one. The font is a bit hard to read, though.
3- This is great! I love the manipulation of the evan/sasha pictures.

Aww this really almost cheered me up.Still alittle depressed but neways these blends are beautiful:
Blend 1-I liked the colors but I think she needs someone to be lusting over.

Blend 2-My fav and my vote.One you used one of the best Johnny pics in the f-ing world. But back to the blend the quote is awesome and all around I love it.Only problem is that it's alittle busy thats all.

Blend 3-I would have voted for this one second if I didn't think Sasha clawing onto Evan was alittle weird.But it's still v. v. nice great job and Evan and Sasha are lovely together.

Blend 4-it's cute I like it I just wish you put more pics maybe and made it alittle more stand outish.

Wow. Great job guys.

#1: I loved the idea behind this. It's very well done. I really appreciated the attention to the text as well. Everything is well placed and thought out. I love the blurring of Kimmie and Fumie. Wonderful effect. Great pics, great placement....one flaw. She's not lusting after someone...I don't know if that was in the rules or not for sure but yeah. Great blend though.

#2: I loved this!! It was great, except for the heavy bars. If the bars would have been a bit softer it would have been perfect. I loved the pics used however. Great, great, choice of pics. And overall, great blending. It's just the lines that take away from all that. Good job though!

#3: LOVE LOVE LOVE the manips! Great job! They look flawless! This was totally a creative idea. The only think I didn't like about it was that the pics of Evan and Sasha didn't really blend into the entire picture. They seemed like they were floating there in outter space, lol. But everything else was really really well done. I really appreciated this blend for it's creativity and it's overall presentation. Great job!

#4: Simple but well done. The cutting is really well done and the heart's adorable. I would have just prefered more pics and a little more pizazz. Great job though, again. It's very well done

In the end....number 1 you get my vote. Even though Sasha wasn't technically lusting after someone, she was lusting after something and I think you portrayed the theme well.

Wow, great job blendmakers! OK, here's my IMOs, for what they're worth:

1 - I really like this one just as a blend, but it really doesn't portray lust, aside from the quote, although I do really like that quote. It's beautiful, I really like the effects and everything, but it's just not very lusty.

2 - I voted for this one, it's not my favorite as a blend but it just screams lust! The script is a little hard to read though, and it's a bit too busy.

3 - Aw, Evan is so hot Haha, but I couldn't vote it just cuz it had Evan in it. But I came really, really close to voting for this one, it's really creative and well-done, fantastic effects, colors, everything! But it's just not quite as true to the theme as the one before. It's probably my favorite though.

4 - Good choice of pictures, and I really like that effect in the background! Again, as a blend this one is really cool, but it doesn't portray lust that well. It's also just a tad too simple, I'd like to see the pictures played with a little more. But that's just me

It was very very well done. I love the lighting effects used too, and the font is really awesome. Great job!

My vote goes to #2. All of the blends are great....but I think #2 is the best representation of lust.

These blends are great!

1 - You can't get enough of the lighten effect. Simple and beautiful, but it does not portray a lot of lust to me.

Blendmaking and effects - 8/10
Portraying of Lust: 6/10

2 - The font is extremely hard to read - I had to strain my eyes to read it. The 45 degree scanlines are way too dark - try an overlay or soft light effect instead of laying it on like it is. The top and bottom bars of Sasha eating the strawberry... I didn't even know it was that until I scrutinized the picture. The blending.. I cannot say I like, but the portraying of lust is clear and strong.

Blendmaking and effects - 4/10
Portraying of Lust: 9/10

3 - I like how you took the picture of Evan and placed it where the guy was supposed to be. Great idea! You can see that in the red silhouette though - Sasha's hand is too square and there is a point sticking out of it where she's holding onto Evan. (yes.. I am picky =P) BUT, I love the font, love the text, love the text placement, and I love the picture placement as well. Excellent use of gradients, and the pretty white rose. =P I like the kearning of the 'but still a paradise' text - it look really great with the blend! I love how much you portrayed 'lust' as well. The only thing I don't like about the blend is the luminance legacy maybe, or the colour legacy on the Sasha Ina Bauer picture and Evan on the ice picture... maybe you just should have used grayscale.

Portraying of Lust: 9/10

4 - I do not like the picture placement, picture effects, but the pictures you chose were good. You should have added some extra effects onto the pictures instead of just placing them on. I don't like the text and the heart either - it's too plain and looks bland.

Blendmaking and effects: 3.5/10
Portraying of Lust: 7.5/10

As the question of the poll was 'Which blend do you think best represents the sin of lust?', there were two - blend 2 and blend 3, but since blend 3 had better blendmaking and effects than blend 2, I had to vote for blend three.

That's my critique for today.

My favorites design wise are 1 and 3 but as others said 1 doesn't represent lust as well as 3 did so I decided to select #3! They all are great though.

Wow, all of these are really good! Here's what I thought:


Blend #1: I almost voted for this one. It's really beautiful and well-done.

Blend #2: This one portrayed lust really well but yeah the font was hard to read and I kind of gave up after the first little paragraph thing and then went back and read the rest.

Blend #3: I voted for this! It's gorgeous, so creative and I really love the quote.

Blend #4: Good choice of pictures. I think it could have used more effects or more text than just the "lust" though.

The theme is the sin of gluttony. so far i know of 2 people doing a blend. we kind of need more people to make blends, so if you have time, please enter! you can be a beginner, intermediate, advanced, whatever you want. it's a great experience and a great way to learn how to improve.
