Sasha's LP practice report

For her warm up:
Had a skaky lutz (didn't pick in well), but still got the 2 toe
did jumps all in order before runthrough (2axel up to 3 lutz). They looked good.

For runthrough:
Landed all jumps on runthrough but the loop.
Other jumps looked really solid.
Ending's a little different. Combo with the Y spin (the one she did at Campbell's), then out of that she goes into a sculling move, and then the ending pose.


Other skaters:
Kimmie landed 2 more 3axels but fell on 2 as well
Everybody else was falling.


They only went to Sasha's practice group.

Thanks. Are there big names that the "everybody else" includes? In other words...I'm not sure who all is practicing in Sasha's group. I'm assuming that since there wasn't any mention of Jenny and Michelle they must be in another group.

No Jenny or Michelle. Just Katy Taylor, Emily Hughes, Yebin, and another girl named Angela who had a REALLY nasty fall. She fell in splits and based on her spirals, she didn't look that flexible. :eek:

Fell on the loop, or didn't try it in practice?

So how was her loop in the run-through? Did she fall on it, pop it, step out? And was it seven triples planned or six?

Kiki said a fall one time, then said a fall out the other.

She didn't tell me the number planned but when she gets back and can post about it, I'm sure she'll let us know.

okay as far as the loop goes, she fell out of it but then sorta slipped across the ice a bit and had to put both her hands down. It sort of reminds me of the fall she had in the SP at 2002 Worlds.

After she took that fall she stopped for a bit and said something to Nicks before getting back into it. She took another small break before going into her spiral sequence full out. That was the highlight of the practice for me.

How was Katy? I forgot that there was ladie's practices today. She was at my rink this morning but I was working and didn't really get to see her skate. Kimmie didn't land ANY 3axels at my rink this morning. :(

Katy was having jump issues. I was mostly watching Sasha, but everytime I looked over at Katy she was either falling or popping her jumps.

Kimmie did land a few clean 3 axels, so it'll be interesting to see if she does tomorrow.

According to an MK board, it appears that there was something wrong with the ice. Everyone was having troubles, including MK and thus MK left the practice ice early.

The ice in arenas can get pretty tricky. Remember the 2002 Crest White Strips Challenge where they had cones in a corner because there was ice MISSING?!

Yeah I've noticed the Coliseum's ice looking weird...luckily the ladies may have practiced there, but they compete over at the Rose Garden.
