Alexander Abt turned pro, after he withdrew from Russian Nationals. It's on his official site if you want to read article.

Yeah, I heard. It's sad that such a great skater was plagued with so many injuries in his career! He had such great potential and was always so close to winning big events! It's sad that he has to leave the sport, but he's been having troubles for a while. I wish him well in his pro life, whatever he chooses to do with his life. We'll miss you!

AWWWWWWW.... :( This is so sad!!! I would've loved to see him win Worlds, or the GPF or something like that. HE has so much potential! I believe his years aren't quite over yet. But i wish him the best in his new life, and I can't wait to see him as a pro. Best wishes to him.
BTW can you give me a link to his official site? I lost it. :o Thanks

He's been one of my favorites, and I will miss him as much as I miss Bourne&Kraatz. His edges were beautiful... he's had such a hard life, I wish him the best and I hope we see him at shows and other events...

"That's it. A groin injury takes a long time to heal, and then I would have to start all over again. I just can't and don't want to do that. I'm looking forward now to skate in shows and tours. I have a family to support", Sasha explained. "I have some offers already. I will continue to work with Sasha (Alexander Zhulin)."
It's sad that he had to turn pro because of an injury. It's terrible, but I think he will be great as a pro. There is not as much pressure to do all those jumps. Best wishes to him.
Here is his site:

It's sad that he had to turn pro before he actually wanted to (especially from injury). He is wonderful skater. He has has difficult life, and was plagued with so many set backs and injuries in his career. I would have loved for him to have won GPF or medal at Worlds. I wish him best, and I hope to see him skate in shows or tours.
