This is SO unfair! This could've happened to any skater, including Sasha! If Kyoko is punished in this way, it's like the ISU is telling skaters they have to pee in a cup for any person who shows up at their doorstep, just in case the person turns out to really be an Anti-Doping official who forgot his proper credentials.
As someone on another board said, if something had happened to Kyoko (i.e. if, God forbid, she had been attacked), she would have been criticized for being foolish enough to let people without proper credentials into her home. As it was, she tried to cooperate, but who can blame her for becoming suspicious when one of the people had expired credentials, the other had none whatsoever, and neither could give her an accurate phone number for her to verify their identities. I am infuriated by this whole thing.
I hope others are, too. If you are, please use the links located in the link above to write to the ISU to protest, the USFSA to ask them to fight for Kyoko, and most of all, to Kyoko and John themselves to show your support. Thanks.

I do believe that having random drug testing is fair though, I can't believe they may ban her from skating forever that is just going way to far in my opinion.

I like Kyoko. It's too bad that something like this had to happen to her. I, by the way, also wish her the best. :)

Here is a statement from Kyoko:
http://www.figureskatersonline.com/ina-zimmerman/news_articles_003.html
The pathetic thing is the minimum ban is more than the ban that LeGougne & Gailhaguet received for fixing the Olympic pairs.
I guess not being able to perform a bodily function at an obsene hour (and being asked to do so by someone who is not properly liscenced or credentialed!) is worse in the eyes of the ISU than completely fixing the most watched sport at the Olympics? And has anyone gotten suspended for that whole mobster thing concerning the Olympics? Nope. Makes you think...
I hope the USFSA goes all out for Kyoko - I am sure they have a team of lawyers and pressure that can save Kyoko from being unfairly punished for circumstances out of her control.

From Barry Wilner:

So, the USADA guy thinks that it is "appropriate" that Kyoko is being penalized, when his own official didn't follow proper procedures???!!! The more I read about this, the more upset I get. I'm glad Kyoko is speaking out though, because like she said, at least maybe her experience can prevent it from happening to someone else.

No kidding! How weird is that? By the way, I found an email address for the USADA, and I encourage everyone to use it to voice your outrage at their handling of this case:

I agree. That's really dumb that she could even get a life ban, yet people fixed an Olympic ban and only get 3 years + the next Olympics.

This is ridiculous and the sktating officials need a slap on the hand instead of punishing Kyoko. And how stupid is it to ban her from skating for this and letting the people go that were fixing the results in the olympics?

I totally agree with you they should do random testing during reaonable hours and the fact that it was late in the night is just wrong.

I personally think, and have for a while, that the majoity of the skating infastructure is a corrupt, crooked, dirty orginization. I've thought that ever since that whole thing where what's her name had nancy kerrigan clubed. Why did they still let her compete? Well, she got her's in the end anyway. And why are judges who were found guilty of fixing results still jusging? These things are inexcusable, and i don't know what the hell these people are thing. I think the only way to clean up the international sport is to completly tear down the ISU, fire *everyone* that is employed in it, and rebuild it from scratch. Their policies suck, their decisions suck, and they have completly failed at a mojor reason for thier existance--to ensure fair competition among skaters. I also think that they don't give a shit what the fans think or say. The only way the'll get the hint is if all the major skaters refuse to skate in ISU sponserd events. That'd be cool, If they all just showed up, and played around on the ice, and refused to compete. But how likely is that to happen? Alas, I see it as the only way.
