I am really impressed with all junior skaters who are 13 and 14.
Skaters like Karen Archambault and Danille Kahle are 13 and 14.
Also, I heard of this diminute girl called Caroline Zhang who wins
constantly competitions at the juvenile level. Does anybody know
how old she is? She is really incredible!
I am seeing more younger girls doing harder triples than the
older senior skaters! Could these little dynamos be more ta-
lented and have a better future than some of today's seniors?

well, sometimes its not all about jumps. 13/14 used to be the age when u are expected to be senior. Tara was world champ at 14. Now, though, with stupid age limits, you have to be 15 by July 1st to go to worlds or the Olyms. i think that they should allow anyone to go, and then if you dont have the artistry you wouldnt have won anyway. That, to me, sounds more fair.

Young skaters at high levels isnt such a new thing either. Sonia henie was 11 at her 1st olympics (she came in last). Peggy Flemming was 14 or 15 when she won her first nats and went to the Olympics.

I think it's insane the young girls are doing 3/3s and triple axels...it will kill them. Look at Tara--she'll be in a walker by the time she's 30. :(

Tara will not...It takes a toll on the body yes but Tara is healing well and she is doing what is needed to heal. Some people don't get injuries no matter what they do like me I have nevr had a serious injurry I think alot depends on if you take care of your self, do the proper warm up for less risk of injurry, and genetics...And how many you do...If some one is doing them over over over over and over it will take a serious toll but if they work it little by little I think they will be okay

At the Golden West Competition I went to Caroline Zhang's biggest jump was 2 axel and her biggest combo was 2 axel 2 loop, she was also competing as an intermediate, not a Juvenille. I also saw Danielle Kahle and she was great, but I saw her and heard her talking to her friend in the room where they posted the marks and the results and she was all "Did you see that 5.7 for presentation, what idiot judge gave me that mark! I mean are they blind?!!!". I obviously wasn't supposed to have heard this because when her friend pointed to me (apparently she had not known anyone was in the room) her face went wide and she left quickly. Anyways she skated well. I don't know about Tara in a walker at 30. Maybe she won't be doing triple triples ever agian but I don't think she will be incapacitated or forced into a walker or a wheelchair! ;)

People who will be in walkers in less than 10 years dont host their own skating shows...

wow!! That sure sounds a bit obnoxious....is she really that good? Christine Brennan mentioned her as one of the young kids to watch for in 2006 Olympics....but then again she also mentioned Sarah Hughe's sister who is a lovely skater but by no means a World Contender...

I believe Danielle's point would have been that they were crazy for giving her a mark that high, not low :)

I agree in ways...I mean Sarah has the most wondeful spin...I think probably my the best out of alot of skaters...I like her spins more then sasha because her combo is always different I always know what Sasha will do that is the only up side ot Sarah skating

I meant that skatoing like her sis isnt good because she will always be in her sis's shadow. They dont want another sarah huges. They want skaters who are their own selves....

A girl at my rink is 8 and already has her double lutz. Her emotion is very good as well. It's insane!

By the tone in her voice it was evident that she thought that the marks weren't high enough. If she had meant the opposite she wouldn't have ran out of the room like she had just been caught being......not nice. ;)

:( I'm sorry to hear that, she looks like cute skater, but we all have our moments when we want to kill the judges every now and then I guess! What were her other presentation marks from the other judges like?

I enjoy seeing the younger skaters because I am amazed by the jumps that they can do. But I also enjoy the artistry of some older skaters like Sasha (not that she's old! lol.... But I mean in comparison to the 13 year olds). I liked seeing Kimberly Meissner at the Nationals Exhibition this year.

Now its very difficult to win in senior ranks! Just look back in 1980...no one was doing quads! The young skater are so good! they jump high they are original (look sasha's Y spin..its mazing and no one can do it!!) Maybe that if Katarina Witt was skating now she would'nt win 5 worlds title!! im sure in a couple of years a man will land a five rotation jump! and ladies will all do quads!
