Scott Williams, it was mentioned in the L.A. Times:

I'm not sure I would call this the best coach that could have been chosen but if it is just for an "experiment" maybe it could help, or it could hurt... I guess we will see.

1990 World Pro champion. I don't think he had much success in amatuers but much more in pros. He really isn't Michelle's style - something completely different, that is what worries me.

Hmmm. I guess it will be interesting to see how this season goes for Michelle then!

Whatever it is, I'm totally happy for her! I trust her in her decision. Maybe, they've come up with something really good and are going to suprise us all in Campbell's. :D Just a thought.

I always liked her with Frank, but at least she has a coach now.

i hope this works out for her also -- even though i love frank -- anyway Scott Williams is a fromer professional skater :D here is an excerpt from the article (i dont get it either  )
Michelle Kwan will resume competition in the Campbell's International Figure Skating Classic on Oct. 5 at Daytona Beach, Fla., under the guidance of a new coach, former professional skater Scott Williams. She said Thursday she had worked with Williams the last two weeks but that she had not made a lasting commitment. "We'll just see how it goes," said Kwan, who ended a decade-long relationship with Frank Carroll a year ago. "It would be foolish for me to say it will be long term when I don't know how he is at competitions or how it will work out.

MK also has 2 new programs according to the reports, but who's choreographing them/ If she is staying with Sarah K., I would be suprised, considering how her style on MK did not draw raves(as compared to Lori's style). But, since Michelle has new programs, I now believe that she'll compete at nats & worlds. Personally, I think MK needs to make a decision: either she decides to make skating her top priority (or) she takes some time off to enjoy the life she never had before cause skating has always taken up most of her free time (she has joked that she hardly gets to see her boyfriend). Bottem line, you cannot half a** this sport, no matter how famous you are, a skater has to give it everything and not "just see how it goes"-(with a new & relatively unknown coach). What I always liked about Michelle in the past, was that she surrounded herself with the "best" professionals (Carrol, Nichol, even costume designer Vera Wang). When you work with the best people & you devote yourself to being the best- you will most likely win. I think MK's new found approach to her skating career doesn't work as well as how she ran her career back when "Team Kwan" used to exist.

Can someone post it here? L.A. Times won't let me in because I am not a member.

This guy just does not sound like someone Michelle would use if she was going to stay competitive. It could be the beginning of a move to the pro's.

Well as much as I like Michelle, it wouldn't suprise me

well, at least she has a coach now. I think she could have done a lot better last year if she'd had Frank and Lori helping her.
