Daria Grinkova

Does anyone know anything about Daria (daughter of G&G)? Does she skate?

Daria was born on Sep 11, 1992 so she is ten going on 11 years old.
In regards to Daria and skating, here is something from an article:

"I'm Daria's only coach right now and also choreographed her programs for a local rink competition."
Gordeeva obviously has a knack for it-much like Daria has for skating. In the competition, Daria's first, she took the top prize. "We were both a little nervous, but not too bad. It's not very high-level competition yet. But, of course, I understand what it's all about, "Gordeeva said.
"I was very proud of her because in the competition she did better jumps than she even did in practice. That's a very good sign, a very good start, "beamed Gordeeva. "The main thing though is that she's enjoying it, which shows allover her face. After she came off the ice, her response was, 'I want to do it again' because she had so much fun out there. "Gordeeva shares her young daughter's sentiment.

I've heard that Katia are Daria are going to skate together in a Hallmark Mother's Day special on CBS on May 3, 2003.

she's supposedly skating in a show in Colorado with her mom some time soon...

I personally think it's great she's following in her parents' figure "tracings" ;) I guess she's doing well in local competitions too :)


she was also spotted at several SOI stops... as Kurt pointed her out every time during his Slippery Side Up Routine ;)

What level is she? Does she plan on taking US or Russian citizenship? I heard she gets to choose when shes 18!

I don't know anything about what level she is in, but a few years ago I heard that she was more into rhythmic gymnastics. But it sounds like maybe she has found her passion in skating. I'm wondering if her little sister Elizaveta will take up skating one day. She was born on June 15, 2001, so she's only a bit under 2 right now. Daria will get to choose her Nationality when she's 18. She was born in the US and lives here, so maybe she will choose to compete for the US, but at the same time, I could see her choosing to skate for Russia like her parents did.

I remember seeing her on one of the SOI broadcasts a few yrs. ago and she was in the background taking to somebody in english with an American accent. Doesn't surprise me since she has spent almost all of her life in the US. She'll probably be coming up through the US skating system if she does decide to get serious about it. If she should get to an international level I'm guessing she's going to have to choose even before 18. The Russians would just die if Daria decided to compete for the US.

I remember reading something last year about Ilia helping Daria with her waltz jump and at one point her program scores were listed and if I remember correctly she was doing pre-priliminary or preliminary. SHe's just starting out but she's got some awesome teachers (not to mention great genes!)

If she's doing pre or pre-pre than I'm sure she has most of her singles. Most girls these days compete in pre-pre with an axel, but not all.

Sorry if I'm stating something that's already been said, but Daria's skating with Katia in the upcoming Hallmark skating special for mother's day. Its going to air in early may.

Don't get your hopes up getting to see Liza. Ilia Kulik is very tight-lipped about his personal life. There has not been much talk about both Daria and Liza at all. Daria was spotted at a lot of SOI shows this year where Katia was performing. Here is a link of what Daria looks like now.

Daria looks pretty much the same, blond hair. As far as I know, both Ilia and Katia are coaching/chorographing for other skaters. I can't remember the name of a guy that they are coaching right now.

Well, no matter what level she is at, Katia did say that Dasha took top prize against her competitiors, so she's probably a quick study.
