Hello Skating Fans!
I was watching some programs from this season's NHK. I was thinking.. This has been a great skating season for women!! The past few years have been soso where only a few performances have really stood out. But this really I think the ladies have really stepped up their game with mature and beautiful programs! With how hard skating's become.. I think the skaters have really made skating seem efortless and light on its feet again! Plus costumes are back to fitting in with the programs with out being obscene or doubty. I think the US ladies are starting to really make a name for themselves!! And I hope it gets better as 2010 comes up!!
My notices on individual skaters..
I'm normally not a fan of Nakano but her Giselle program made me smile. I'm also not a Ando but her music choices are atleast making more sense than past choices.
I love Mao Asada and I'm glad she's slowly but surely getting back to form.
I was majorly impressed with Ashley Wagner's SP and LP! Huge improvement from last year. And I love her costuming. Though her long program's costume's a tad reveiling.
Rochette finally seems back in her element. Her costumes are beautiful and her choreography seems to be a great fit.
Its nice to see Suguri back in the game. You can tell she really loves this sport.
I'm also glad Kostner's going back to her long program from last year. I think we tend to forget how difficult these programs are and I think honestly skaters need a longer period to really develop and get comfortable with a program.
I wish the best for Caroline Zhang and Mirai Nagasu.
