that's probably a song title, but I'm not sure who I stole it from :lol:
anyways, here's an idea to get discussion going in preparation for Skate America (and the GP series as a whole).
The ladies field is soooo crowded at Skate America and there are probably 6 people with a chance to medal. You'll often see sports articles that will list "All the Reasons why such-and-such a team will win the SuperBowl" and "All the Reasons why such-and-such a team will miss the playoffs".
Let's do the same here...list the major contenders for medals and fill in this sentence:
1. All the reasons why skater ________ (fill in name) will win a medal at Skate America.
and
2. All the reasons why skater ______ (fill in name) will not win a medal at Skate America.
You can go list as many skaters as you'd like (and there's no need to stick with ladies .... or with Skate America).
I'll start with a few as examples
all the reasons why Kimmie will win a medal at Skate America
she's the defending champion
she's a tough competitor
she's been working to fix her jumps
(there are probably others but I'll let the rest of you fill them in)
all the reaosns why Kimmie will miss the medal stand at Skate America
too much competition
improvement on her jumps may not be instant
All the reasons why Yukari Nakano will medal at Skate America
she's super consistant
she has a triple axel
she's proven herself as a top competitor
she probably should have won a medal at Worlds last year
All the reasons why Yukari will not medal at Skate America
her leg wrap
she recently finished third at a competition behind Suguri and Takeda
she's good....but the competition may be better
