Yay for ice dance! I flat out adore ice dancing and cannot wait for this season to begin.

Since music/theme is all important for ice dance programs I thought I'd make a list of the programs that we know (or have heard rumors about)

Delobel/Schoenfelder (France)

both Carron/Jost and Kerr/Kerr are skating to Muse (as are Matthews/Gislason)

Those are the top teams...what do you all think about these choices?

oh my god, I don't like any of the choices this season :eek: and I really hope Virtue and Moir doesn't skate to Pink Floyd, especially after their beautiful Umbrella's of Cherbourg program

I'm not big on ice dancing, but I like Davis/ White, Belbin/Agosto, and the Hubbells.

Well....everyone keeps saying that they need to push themselves out of their "comfort zone" of programs like Valse Triste and Umbrellas, maybe this will help them do that.

I'm hoping that Davis/White come up with a fantastic FD for this year to redeem the music choices a little bit as I, too, am not overly thrilled with what people chose. Although....I love, love, love what the Kerrs came up with so maybe I should wait until I actually see the programs before I make any judgements :lol:

My favorite teams that i want to do amazing: Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto, Meryl Davis and Charlie White, the Kerrs, Kimberly Navarro and Brent Bommentre, and Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir.

Besides that, I would love to see Jane Summersett and Todd Gilles do well, and the two teams that i saw at An Evening with Champions (the Ukrainians Anna Zador..something and someone, and then Morgan Matthews and Leif Gislason).

My favorite teams are Belbin and Agosto, Davis and White, and Virtue and Moir. I really want Davis and White to finally get the scores and placements they deserve this year... I feel like they've been somewhat ripped off the last two seasons. So excited to see everybody's programs.

I read Oksana's interview and feel a little bit sad. Although they're doing great in training, they feel uncomfortable in USA,especially Oksana :(

Yeah, I feel the same way! I think the guys should get more credit than the girls do!

I saw that interview too. It must also be hard because of Shabalin's injury. I'm sure they've lost significant training time and are maybe feeling frustrated with all of it. I also wonder how it is really working out for them to be training with Tanith and Ben. Belbin and Agosto have sounded so positive in all of the interviews, the training environment is really working out well for them and they have been able to move ahead and really work towards this season --- I wonder if that has been putting more pressure on Domnina/Shabalin.

Anyways, it will be interesting to see these two at Cup of China!

Not sure what I think about Moonlight Sonata for F/S. They don't strike me particularly as a soft and romantic pair ... although I did love their FD last year which was a different direction for them.

Virtue/Moir have withdrawn from Skate Canada. She has been dealing with Shin Splints and decided to have surgery to treat the problem.

This makes dance this season veeerrrryyy interesting.

Go Davis/White at skate Canada!!!! :cheer:

Aww, I'm sad now. Actually this means they definitely won't qualify, not with only one event. :(

On the other hand, this is going to be Belbin/Agosto's year. I just know it. :)

I don't think that qualifying for the GPF will make that big of a difference for V/M -- their number one priority is to be healthy enough to compete at Nationals.

If I remember correctly 2 of the 3 years that Belbin/Agosto won their medals at worlds, they didn't compete at GPF (because of injury situations). I'm not sure that the results at GPF influence results at worlds that much (and that's probably not what you were implying...but I thought I'd just say that anyways).

To look at it from glass half full...V/M not qualifying for the GPF will open up a spot for a different couple to qualify that maybe hasn't qualified before (Davis/White, Faiella/Scali ??)

I was just saying that as a general statement, aside from the talk of Virtue/Moir and the GPF. But that's true, there's still a long time between GPF and Worlds and anything can happen in between.
