What's the story on Emily Hughes?

She's competing. She came in third at North Atlantic regionals. And she's doing a Grand Prix event; TEB. So, I guess it's wait and see?

I believe Emily is on the Today Show tomorrow. Maybe we'll learn more what her goals are.

Yeah that does kind of worry me. I really hope to see her this season. I've missed her.

She is going to be at TEB and Nationals but beyond that she may only get a B internationl like Granada. I think that there is just so much younger talent out there that she won't make it to worlds or 4cc

And not just someone who has been ON the Nat'l podium, but someone who was less than a point away from GOLD, and many would argue, should have had the gold. Emily has got to figure out a way to start really earning points in the long program, otherwise ... :(

Well, I suppose that if Emily is still enjoying training, skating, and competing then the best that she can do is...well, her best. As fans we can worry and debate about whether or not she has the content/talent/whatever to make the Worlds team...but from her perspective she can't worry about that (unless that is her sole motivation for skating...which it probably isn't). And you never know...if she skates her absolute best...and others falter, get injured, etc. she may at least end up high enough to get a 4CC assignment.

But I do agree, that she will have to be at the absolute top of her game to have a higher placement at Nationals.
