View Full Version : Your skating positives and negatives.

My coach has me do this every day I skate after our lesson and it could work here, too.

So everday you skate all you do is come here and list atleast three things you did good and atleast 1 thing you didn't do very good.

This way you can focus on what you need to work on and you can also look back on what you have accomplished when you are feeling down about your skating!:) It helps me, so maybe it will help you too.

Good idea, for other things than skating too.

Did well: Some really good power back crossovers where I was pushing really hard with both legs. I did my pre-bronze moves pretty well. My double-push got better (it's a speed skating thing, but still).

Needs work: 2-foot spin: i find myself shifting my weight between my two feet. Toe-loop is a total mess, but my coach should fix that on Sunday. Back Inside 3s, especially left footed ones.

I also learned that spirals are really tiring when you do them down the length of the ice and try to extend. In fact everything is really tiring, even spins.

ooo I like this idea!

ok well today, Im sorry for the excuses but I have a really nasty practically infected blister on the inside of my left foot from my new skates....so a lot of things hurt to do and I couldnt go all out in practice and Im still really md about it

negatives: ( all because of blisters)

- couldnt do double axel or triple sow, triple flip or triple lutz today...couldnt even rotate them:confused: it hurt too bad...I mean imagine taking off of a blister on your left foot going into a triple sow- OUCH

-couldnt spin on my left foot either so I couldnt practice my I spins or beillmans...or even like death drop for that matter, Im so mad!


Positives

-actually I decided that I wanted my triple clean too bad to let a blister get in teh way...so teh triples I coudl tolerate I rotated a lot of them- I landed a couple clean triple toes and I rotated a few good loops! I was very happy that I pushed through, even though my blister was really stinging ands tuff

so today was alright but I can't wait until my blister is healed up so I can skate normally!:D
