Mens: I don't really have one since I practically never watch mens' figure skating. But as far as looks go, Evan is my favorite.
Dance: I don't watch ice dancing. It just isn't my thing, although I am a dancer, but compared to figure skating--it's a flop. Then again, it's only my opinion.
Pairs: Rena Inoue and John Baldwin. They deserved a better score at the Olympics. Then again I have never got how the new scoring system works, so I really wouldn't know.:lol:
Ladies: I think this is pretty obvious. Ladies and Gentleman *drum roll please*, Sasha Cohen!

Well, if this is not limited to current figure skaters I would say Sasha and Kristi Yamaguchi, Gordeeva & Grinkov (pairs), Evan Lysacek, Plushy, and Wylie.

Ladies -- other than Sasha, I like Michelle (especially her sportsmanship_, Irina (can't keep a good woman down) and Maria B (nothing -- not even her own federation -- would stand between her and her dreams). Also Debi Thomas, for going on to medical school.

Men -- Alexei Yagudin; Todd Eldredge; Tim Goebel (I was very impressed with the way he handled his poor Nats performaces in '03 and '04)

Ice Dance -- B/A and D/L

Pairs -- B/S

Oh my, it just dawned on me that there was another question. And that was why we liked these favorite skaters? Sasha for her artistry, extensions, spirals, splits, etc. Kristi for her consistency. Plushy for his great talent in competition as well as exhibitions. Lysacek for his looks (LOL!), courage, and dedication. Gordeeva and Grinkov were just remarkable - - - they truly skated as one. Mao Asada has all the "goods" and if she continues to get better, watch out! I also loved Wylie for his artistry. He was so entertaining in pro competitions.

Overall favorite: Timothy Goebel.
He may not be the best in most people's eyes, but to me he is, was, and will forever be amazing. And he's the sweetest person in the world.

Other favorites:
Ladies: Sasha is #1, followed by Jenny Kirk.
Men: Tim, then Johnny, Mike, Evan
Pairs: Tatiana and Max
Dance: Tanith and Ben

Believe it or not Sasha is not my favorite skater of all time.

Alexei Yadugin is by far my favorite skate of all time (men or ladies). I just can't seem to find the words to describe how much I loved his skating. His 2002 Olympic win was so emotional. The most 6.0's by any skater at an Olympics, and so well deserved. His Winter program is my favorite of all time, a sheer masterpiece and interpreted perfectly. Alexei, IMO, of any skater can best interpret music and skated with his whole body and heart. I miss his skating so badly. If any skater ever deserved a 6.0 it was him.

i must have to agree with you on that. he is so amazing. i just recently watched a few of his old skates and he is just incredible. he has this flawless and effortless way about him. i love watching every element from him, but what really impressed me about him was his footwork.

i must have to agree with you on that. he is so amazing. i just recently watched a few of his old skates and he is just incredible. he has this flawless and effortless way about him. i love watching every element from him, but what really impressed me about him was his footwork.
Oh yes, his footwork cannot be beat...the only other skater that is right up there with him on footwork is Kurt Browing. Both of them are the Kings of footwork IMO.

Men - Alexei Yagudin! He's what really got me into loving skating. And no one compares with his straightline. I think I'm going to become a huge fan of Stephane Lambiel with time. He's awesome.

Pairs - Shen/Zhao. I was never a HUGE fan of B/S or Sale/Pelletier or even G/G..

Dance - Denkova/Staviyski! They're always SO innovative. I've always preferred them over Navka/Kostomarov & I also love Annisina/Pezerat
