I don't skate, but I know that there is an outdoor rink in Curry Village in Yosemite.

An outdoor ice rink opens around Christmas where I live. I don't normally skate there though, the ice isn't as good and it's freezing cold.

Yeah, there are outside rinks. I think I skated on one once when I was younger, but usually they're not as good because the ice isn't as smooth. Unless you're talking like, Rockefeller Center or something, I'm sure they keep the ice there great.

Yes, there's an outdoor rink that is constructed every winter over a tennis court downtown where I live (Walnut Creek, CA). It's been very popular and is a lot of fun. They put strings of Christmas lights overhead, and it's very beautiful at night. The ice isn't as smooth as a normal rink, so it's not the place for serious practice, but I really enjoy skating there every winter. :)

yeah...I think theres like a few outside rinks around but I think its mostly for liek recreational skating because its hard to keep the ice nice for freestyle, and like, if the ice is bad it ruins your blades so its not a good idea
we have a lake up here that freezes in the winter and its a really popular place to skate for fun in the winter...I havn't gone in a while though because my skaters that i would use for outside are too small now lol
but its really nice, at night they have like these bonfies going and they have hot chocolate and stuff! its so fun

there are outdoor rinks, of course they are during like the winter time. there are usually no zambonis or anything so the ice gets pretty rough and it's basically just recreational skating. there aren't any outdoor rinks right around where i am..it's never cold enough to have any. i know of a few outdoor rinks near where i'm applying for colleges, they are small and usually ponds, or other outdoor areas like that.

Campus Martius Park is an outdoor ice rink during winter in Detroit. I live in a suburb of Detroit but I've never been there. I might go next winter though.

They aren't *natural* rinks though, so the ice is formed the same way as on an inside rink. Different from rinks made on frozen ponds or canals.

yeah...some outdoor rinks have zambonis, but a lot don't, or even if they do, the ice is just way different from indoor rinks.

There's a really fun outdoor rink right around the corner from me in Toronto. It's called the "Barbara Ann Scott Rink" (named after the famous skater). I like to go there and play around in the winter. I'm not a skater, but I can do crossovers and simple spins and stuff. But yeah, the ice isn't high quality enough for serious skaters to train on or anything.

They only come around Christmas, if you have a look around on the internet you will probably find one close to you.
There`s many outdoor rinks where I live, one is just outside the inside rink:P So we can go in and out;)But they are just open a few months...
